Evaluation

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog is a free-to-play visual novel / murder mystery game that launched on March 31, 2023. The store description presents it as a self-contained story — a one-off murder mystery party adventure aboard the Mirage Express with a defined beginning, cast, and resolution. There is no mention of DLC, expansions, seasons, or future content anywhere in the store listing. The only post-launch developer communication is a November 4, 2025 security/maintenance patch that explicitly states "there are no changes made to the game content," confirming the game's content has been stable since launch. No content updates, roadmaps, or announcements of future additions have ever been made. The game launched as a complete, standalone experience and has remained exactly that.
