The Next Penelope launched out of Early Access on May 29, 2015, with developer Aurelien Regard explicitly describing version 1.07 as "the full, freaking final release build" after two and a half years of development. The store description confirms this history, noting that the game "has now" all final features including local multiplayer and additional solo content. The sole DLC is a soundtrack pack that released during Early Access in April 2015. After the full release, the developer shipped one final small maintenance patch (version 1.07a) on August 31, 2015 to address minor hardware-specific issues. There have been no developer communications, content announcements, or updates of any kind since August 31, 2015. The game launched as a complete, finished product with no post-launch content roadmap, no unreleased DLC, and no announced future additions. Development concluded upon the 1.0 release, with only a minor follow-up patch to address edge-case bugs.
