The Return Home Remastered was originally released on July 29, 2016. On November 28, 2017, Displacement Studios announced they had acquired the game and planned a round of improvements including map overhauls, system rewrites, and new features. Those changes were delivered shortly after on December 3, 2017, in a feature patch that added Steam Cloud save synchronization, automatic DirectX installation, a community-requested map overhaul, and an improved health regeneration system. That December 3, 2017 patch represents the last recorded developer activity. No further updates, announcements, or developer communications have been made since that date. The store description contains no mention of planned future content, season passes, or ongoing development. The game launched as a self-contained product and received one post-acquisition improvement pass before going quiet. It is best understood as a finished, complete product.
