孤岛海妖 The Sea-demon launched on January 5, 2023 as a text adventure visual novel. Shortly after launch, the developer released two bug-fix patches in January 2023 addressing crash issues. Then, on February 20, 2023, a patch note explicitly stated that production of follow-up story content had begun, and that minor text fixes would be held and bundled into the next story update rather than patched separately — a clear signal that more content was coming. However, that February 20, 2023 post is the last communication from the developer. As of today, June 22, 2026, there have been no further updates, announcements, or communications of any kind in over three years. The promised story content has never appeared. Because the developer made a concrete statement about content in development and then went completely silent without delivering or explaining the absence of that content, the status of the announced story continuation is currently unknown.
