Evaluation
The Slaughter: Act One launched on January 28, 2016 as the first installment of a planned multi-act series. The developer, Alex Francois (a solo developer working on the project in their spare time), has always intended to follow it up with Act Two.
Development on Act Two went on hold for a period, but on October 31, 2019, the developer posted an update confirming Act Two was back in active development, noting it is a passion project worked on in spare time. On June 3, 2021, a short free companion game called "The Slaughter: Magdalene" was released, set in the same world.
However, there have been no further communications from the developer since June 3, 2021. Act Two has not been released, and the developer has never announced its cancellation. Given that Act Two was explicitly promised and has never been delivered or officially abandoned, the status of that sequel content is uncertain. The prolonged silence since June 2021 makes it impossible to confirm whether development is still ongoing.
