The Spell Brigade

The Spell Brigade launched its 1.0 release on April 29, 2026, graduating from Early Access. Since launch, Bolt Blaster Games has maintained a strong cadence of updates: ten patches shipped between April 29 and July 1, 2026, addressing bugs, balance, and quality-of-life improvements, with several patches also adding new content like scrolls, quests, and gameplay systems. On July 1, 2026, alongside Patch 9, the developer published a Post-1.0 Roadmap and explicitly stated: "we can officially start looking at the next big things for The Spell Brigade!" This roadmap outlined planned future content updates beyond the initial post-launch patch cycle. Update 1.1 — titled "Realm Sweep" — shipped on September 2, 2026, delivering a new wizard (Eugenie) with a new spell (Seismic Slam), new outfits, objective variants, extensive map improvements, new quests, and gameplay balance changes. In the announcement, the developer described this as "just the tip of the iceberg" and confirmed that "The Spell Brigade post 1.0 is still very much on track." Additional bug fix patches for Update 1.1 followed, with the most recent developer communication on September 17, 2026. The developer also stated in a February 2026 Q&A that they have "a LOT of ideas left to add wizards, spells, enemies, realms, objectives, bosses, outfits and more," while clarifying the game is not intended to become a live service and that development will eventually wind down in favor of a new project. This confirms ongoing content additions are planned but that the game has a finite development horizon. All four DLC items currently listed (a skin pack, soundtrack, artbook, and supporter pack) are released. The game has no battle pass or rotating monetized content cycle.
