The Tape

The Tape is a solo-developed first-person horror game that launched on November 19, 2015 as a complete, self-contained experience. The developer issued two minor patches after launch — a small animation/interface update on January 25, 2016, and the addition of Steam Trading Cards on April 12, 2016 — but no further updates to the game itself have been made since then. The developer's subsequent announcements are all about entirely separate projects: Putrefaction 2 (announced November 2016, entered Early Access January 2017) and Galaxy Squad (announced August 2018). None of these posts reference any planned content for The Tape. The store description presents The Tape as a finished, self-contained narrative game with no mention of updates, DLC, or ongoing content. The last developer communication of any kind related to this game was in April 2016, and the developer has clearly moved on to other titles. The game shipped as a complete product and has remained unchanged since its minor post-launch maintenance in early 2016.
