The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre launched on August 18, 2023 as an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game and received a substantial stream of post-launch content over roughly two years: new playable characters, maps, cosmetics, new game modes, and major gameplay reworks. A Content Pass released in September 2024 bundled a set of committed deliverables — including two new Family characters (Wyatt and Bones), a new Leatherface skin, new maps, and cosmetic packs — all of which shipped between September 2024 and March 2025. On May 13, 2025, Gun Interactive published a formal update titled "An Update on the Future of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, DLC, and What's Next," in which the studio stated it feels the game "has reached its full potential" and indicated this marks a completion point for the core development cycle. This is a direct developer statement signaling the conclusion of planned content development. Following that announcement, a balance tuning patch was issued on May 22, 2025 — maintenance-level work that does not indicate new content is incoming. All 52 listed DLC items are marked as released, and the Content Pass commitments appear fully delivered as of March 20, 2025, when the final Content Pass items (Sunday Best and Denim Outfit Packs) shipped. No unreleased DLC remains on the store, and no future content has been announced since the May 2025 statement. The game is complete.
