Evaluation

The Unholy Priest launched into Early Access on April 4, 2025 and reached its full 1.0 release on August 9, 2025. During Early Access, the developer shipped updates regularly — roughly every 1–4 weeks — adding features such as an ash/urn cremation system, tombstone cleaning, grave customization, a new exorcism ritual, a flower stand, and "The Cursed Hours" creature encounter system. On the day of the 1.0 launch (August 9, 2025), the developer published a roadmap listing several planned features that had not yet shipped: house cleansing missions, new nighttime creatures, funeral ceremonies with attending relatives, a Sunday Mass feature with the church community, and a multiplayer mode. The developer noted multiplayer was a longer-term goal while near-term focus would be on single-player enrichment. Since that August 9, 2025 post, there have been no developer communications of any kind — no updates, no patch notes, no announcements. As of today (September 24, 2026), that silence now spans over 13 months. The developer's pre-1.0 update pattern showed consistent activity every few weeks, making this prolonged silence a significant departure. None of the roadmap content has been confirmed as delivered. The outstanding commitments from the August 2025 roadmap remain unresolved, and the developer has provided no explanation for the extended silence.
Evidence
Developer published a roadmap at 1.0 launch listing multiple unshipped features: house cleansing missions, new Cursed Hours creatures, funeral ceremonies, Sunday Mass, and multiplayer mode. Explicitly stated focus is on improving single-player experience before multiplayer.

About this game

The Unholy Priest offers a thrilling blend of simulation and horror genres, creating a unique and immersive experience.

Step into the Role of a Priest

Run a spooky funeral service deep in a cursed and terrifying forest. By day, greet mourning customers at the reception desk, handle requests from simple burials to elaborate memorial services, and save the souls of the dead who have been possessed by demons.

Dig Graves or Cremate

For the bodies brought in by the relatives of the deceased, dig graves, bury them, and create headstones or decorations according to their requests. Or choose to cremate them in the crematorium.

Save Souls from Demons

Some of the deceased may have souls possessed by demons. You can cleanse these souls through rituals performed in the church’s special ceremony room. Don’t worry—these demons will make sure you feel their presence in the most terrifying ways.

The Cursed Forest

You will be tormented by creatures bold enough to taunt even a priest, all while facing mind games. In an environment filled with eerie sounds and mysterious events, how long can you maintain your sanity?

Tend to the Graves or Suffer Their Wrath

If you fail to maintain the graves of those you’ve buried during the day, they will rise restlessly at night, eager to make you regret your calling!

Immerse yourself in this dark world and experience the pinnacle of horror and simulation in The Unholy Priest!
