The Walking Trade

The Walking Trade launched on March 5, 2026 and has been receiving consistent, substantial updates from its solo developer (Adam, Microwave Games) ever since. Since launch, three major named content drops have shipped: Hellraids (April 1, 2026), Drop Dead Docks (April 24, 2026), and official Controller and Steam Deck support (June 12, 2026). The game has also received numerous feature patches and bug fixes throughout this period. More importantly, the developer published a roadmap on April 24, 2026 announcing two additional major updates still to come: "Rooftop Farming" (planned for late Summer 2026, adding a rooftop growing area, a new world map location called Meadowspring Farms, and a local Tribe faction) and "Into the Bunker" (planned for late 2026 or early 2027, adding a new underground area with new enemies, bosses, and a gas mask survival mechanic). The developer was transparent that these are loose targets rather than firm commitments, given that this is a one-person project. The most recent update, posted on August 20, 2026, explicitly references the Rooftop Farming update as coming in September 2026, confirming it is in active development and still on schedule. This is the last developer communication as of today. The developer has not made any statement suggesting development is winding down. All signs point to continued active development with at least two named content expansions in the pipeline.
