Evaluation
The Whisperer launched on December 16, 2021 as a deliberately short (~45 minute), standalone point-and-click adventure game that also serves as a prelude to the larger title The Whispering Valley. The developer described it from the start as a finite, self-contained experience.
After launch, the game received a bug fix hotfix on December 17, 2021, followed by a meaningful content addition on March 15, 2022 — a "History Mode" that adds informational panels about the game's historical context. This is the last substantive update The Whisperer itself received.
Subsequent developer news shifted focus entirely to other projects: The Whispering Valley launched on November 30, 2022, and in October 2023 the studio announced a new game, October Nightmares, via a Kickstarter campaign. In October 2024, the studio announced The Whispering Valley's release on iOS and Android mobile platforms — noting that The Whisperer is available for free as its prelude.
There are no unreleased DLC entries, no roadmap commitments, and no developer statements suggesting further updates to The Whisperer are planned. The game has functioned as a complete, finished product since at least March 2022, and the studio has publicly moved on to subsequent projects.

About this game
Investigate an abandoned trading post, explore its surroundings and solve the terrible mystery it holds. The Whisperer (Le Murmureur) is a short story-driven point & click game set in Lower Canada at the beginning of the 19th century.
Lower Canada, 1814. A trading post in a remote valley is found abandoned. The two winterers who inhabited it have disappeared. Robert, a voyageur of the North West Company, is tasked in investigating their disappearance. To find the truth, he will have to face horrors of all kinds...
Inspired by games such as Scratches and The Dark Eye, The Whisperer is an ode to the classic horror point & click subgenre. You will find the old school adventure features that we all love: puzzle solving, exploring, inventory, using and combining objects.
The Whisperer is a standalone game, but it also serves as a prelude to The Whispering Valley (2022). It is around 45 minutes long.
