Evaluation

The Witches' Tea Party originally launched on August 28, 2017 as a complete story-driven adventure game. All three DLC items (the soundtrack, art book, and a light version) were released by July 2018, and the original version of the game was fully playable with no outstanding content commitments. However, on December 17, 2022, the developer released a public demo for a full remake of the game — rebuilt in a new engine with new mini-games, improved movement, and other enhancements. Crucially, the developer confirmed that the remake will be delivered as a free upgrade to everyone who already owns this Steam listing, meaning this is directly relevant to current owners. The post noted the remake was still in development with no confirmed release date. That December 2022 demo release is the last official communication about the game on record. As of June 27, 2026, more than three and a half years have passed with no further update on the remake's development, no new demo versions, and no explanation from the developer about the delay or current status. The developer is a small solo operation (Rabbiton), and their other titles have also had lengthy development gaps, but the extended silence here means it is genuinely unclear whether the remake is still being actively worked on.
Evidence
