The Wonderful 101: Remastered

The Wonderful 101: Remastered launched on May 19, 2020 as PlatinumGames' first self-published title — a remaster of the original 2013 Wii U game. The release was backed by a February 2020 crowdfunding campaign that unlocked several stretch goals, which PlatinumGames subsequently delivered as free DLC. The game received two waves of post-launch DLC. The first, a Time Attack mode (DLC-1 and DLC-2), shipped in June–August 2021. The second wave, "The Wonderful One: After School Hero" (Parts 1 and 2), shipped in May 2023 and represented an entirely new side-scrolling gameplay style following a supporting character, Luka. Both DLC releases were explicitly tied to crowdfunding stretch goals. In the November 2023 Steam Awards nomination post (NEWS-1), PlatinumGames summarized their post-launch journey, noting they had "continually been updating the game over the past 3 years" and that the After School Hero DLC represented new content delivered that year. Crucially, the post reads as a retrospective thank-you to fans — there is no mention of any future content in the pipeline. The Time Attack announcement in June 2021 (NEWS-3) included the line "More DLC is coming in the future, so stay tuned!" — but this was a forward-looking teaser that was plausibly fulfilled by the After School Hero DLC, which shipped in May 2023. No post-After School Hero communication has indicated any further content is planned. All four DLC items are released, all crowdfunding stretch goals have been delivered, and the most recent developer communication (November 21, 2023) contains no hint of additional content. The last bug fix patch was July 11, 2023. With all announced content delivered, stretch goals fulfilled, and no outstanding commitments or announced future content, the game is complete as of the release of After School Hero Part 2 on May 26, 2023.
