Tilt Brush

Google released Tilt Brush on April 5, 2016 and updated it regularly with new features through early 2020 — the last feature update (v23.0) arrived on March 9, 2020, adding a camera path panel, Sketchfab upload support, and Google Drive backup. On January 26, 2021, Google published an official developer post announcing that Tilt Brush was going open source, linking to a blog post titled "The Future of Tilt Brush." This is a clear statement from the developer that active development by Google is ending — open-sourcing a product is a standard way for a large company to hand off a project to the community while stepping back from internal development. There have been no developer news posts of any kind since that January 2021 announcement, which is consistent with Google having concluded its work on the title. The game remains available for free on Steam and continues to function, but no further content or updates from Google are expected. The open-source announcement on January 26, 2021 marks the practical end of Google's development of Tilt Brush.
