Tokaido launched on December 4, 2017 as a digital adaptation of the board game. It has never had announced DLC or expansions — it shipped as a complete package adapting the base board game experience. Since launch, the developer has focused on maintenance: fixing bugs, improving compatibility, adding quality-of-life improvements, and updating the game engine. The most recent update (October 22, 2025) fixed Pass & Play mode issues and improved stability. There is no announced future content for Tokaido itself — the publisher's recent announcement activity concerns a separate original game (Inkborn), not any additional content for Tokaido. The game is a faithful digital port of a finished board game, and all post-launch activity has been maintenance rather than content expansion.
