Tormented Souls launched on August 26, 2021 as a classic fixed-perspective survival horror game inspired by Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Following launch, the developer shipped several patches and a Halloween update on October 28, 2021 that added a new outfit, a bonus weapon, and released the game's soundtrack as a standalone DLC. That Halloween update represents the last piece of new content added to the base game itself. The developer's post-launch communications then shifted entirely toward a sequel. Tormented Souls 2 was formally announced on August 23, 2023, followed by a gameplay showcase in August 2024, a playable demo in June 2025, a release date reveal in August 2025, and finally the sequel's launch on October 23, 2025. None of these posts reference any new content planned for the original Tormented Souls — they are entirely focused on the new game. The original game has one DLC listed on the store (the Soundtrack, released October 28, 2021), which is fully released. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced expansions, and no developer statements promising additional content for the original game. The developer's energy and all official communications since late 2021 have been devoted to building and releasing the sequel. Tormented Souls is a complete, finished product.
