Total War: THREE KINGDOMS launched on May 23, 2019 and received an active run of post-launch content over approximately two years. The developer shipped seven major content releases, including DLC packs such as Yellow Turban Rebellion (May 2019), Eight Princes (August 2019), Mandate of Heaven (January 2020), A World Betrayed (March 2020), The Furious Wild (September 2020), and Fates Divided (March 11, 2021) — the final expansion. Accompanying feature patches and hotfixes were released throughout this period.
On May 27, 2021, Creative Assembly published a formal developer update explicitly announcing that the THREE KINGDOMS team had moved into pre-production on the next entry in the franchise. The post stated that after two years and seven DLC releases, active development on THREE KINGDOMS was ending. This is a direct, unambiguous statement from the developer that the game's content cycle is complete.
Subsequent activity has been limited to maintenance: a compatibility patch in January 2023 (addressing CPU stuttering and crash scenarios) and a small boot issue fix in October 2025 — both purely technical fixes with no new content.
