Evaluation

Touhou Danmaku Kagura Phantasia Lost launched on February 7, 2024 and has been receiving a sustained, high-frequency stream of paid song pack DLC ever since, organized into named seasons. Content has been delivered in clear seasonal batches: Packs Vol. 1–4 shipped at launch, Vol. 5–8 across Season 2 (December 2024 through early 2025), Vol. 9–12 in Season 3 (June through November 2025), and Vol. 13–14 in Season 4 (February–April 2026). Vol. 14, released on April 16, 2026, was described as the "grand finale of Season 4." Since the previous assessment (June 15, 2026), two additional song packs have shipped: Extra Song Pack Vol. 15 on June 17, 2026, and Extra Song Pack Vol. 16 on August 12, 2026 — just six days before today's date. The Vol. 16 release announcement notes that the developer plans to "keep adding more tracks with background video support little by little," and it references a Season Pass bundling Packs 15 and 16 together, which mirrors the structure used for previous season launches. All 21 DLC entries on the store are currently marked as released. The developer has not announced a Season 5 by name yet, nor have they stated that content development is finished. Given that Vols. 15 and 16 appear to constitute the beginning of a new content phase following Season 4's conclusion, and that the developer posted just days ago with continued enthusiasm and forward-looking language, the game is clearly still in active content development. The established pattern — a pack roughly every 1–3 months without any announced end date — strongly supports this conclusion.
Evidence
