Touhou Dystopian

Touhou Dystopian launched on October 17, 2025. The day after launch, the developer posted a roadmap confirming the game had already recouped its development costs and committed to continued development "until it becomes the vision I've always had for it." That promise has been kept with a steady stream of updates. Since launch, the developer has shipped three major updates: Version 1.1.0 on November 30, 2025 (Steam Workshop support and new talents), and two additional major content updates since then, along with numerous feature patches covering new systems, performance improvements, and quality-of-life changes. The most significant signal for what comes next is in the Version 1.2.0 update post on June 15, 2026. The developer explicitly stated: "Moving forward, I will shift my development focus to a 'Major Update' that features brand-new gameplay mechanics and ideas," estimating this upcoming version will take 4 to 6 months to complete. The developer has also consistently referenced plans for new enemies, new stages, and DLC (content to be announced) since the October 2025 roadmap. The most recent developer communication was on June 24, 2026 (Version 1.2.0c patch). Development is clearly ongoing and the next major update has been explicitly announced.
