Townscaper

Townscaper launched out of Early Access on August 26, 2021 as version 1.0. In that same launch announcement, developer Oskar Stålberg explicitly stated: "While I am afraid we don't have further development plans at this point." This is a clear, direct statement from the developer that intentional content development has concluded. The game was described from the outset as an experimental passion project and toy rather than a traditional game with ongoing feature development. After the 1.0 launch, the only post-launch updates have been minor bug fixes and a small optimization patch with a few new props in June 2023 — maintenance-level work consistent with keeping the game running on newer platforms, not a signal of new content development. No DLC has ever been announced or listed, no roadmap exists, and the developer has made no statements since the 1.0 post indicating a change in plans. The game launched as a complete, self-contained creative toy and remains so.
