True Lover's Knot

True Lover's Knot launched on November 19, 2015 as a complete kinetic novel with a match-3 mini-game. Its only DLC — a soundtrack pack — shipped on the same day as the game itself. The post-launch history tells a winding story. In January 2016, the developer announced plans to add a full dating sim mode to the game by Spring 2016. That update never materialized. In April 2017, the developer announced they were pulling the game from Steam entirely due to negative reviews, then reversed course just one week later after an outpouring of community support, explicitly confirming that Sapphire Dragon Productions was still active and working on new titles. In March 2019, a patch fixed a story bug and updated the interface — the last substantive content change. The most recent developer communication was a bug fix patch on June 5, 2026, addressing crashes and achievement issues. The Spring 2016 dating sim update promised in January 2016 was never delivered, and given the decade-plus of silence on that commitment — along with the developer's own 2017 post acknowledging they found a full rewrite "not economically feasible" — that promise should be considered permanently abandoned. No new content has been announced at any point since then. The game shipped as a self-contained story product, received only maintenance patches after launch, and has no unreleased DLC or stated future content plans. The developer remains active (as evidenced by the June 2026 patch), but purely in a maintenance capacity for this title.
