Uncharted Waters Online is a free-to-play massively multiplayer game that has been running continuously since its Steam release on December 19, 2018, and is clearly designed to operate as an ongoing live service with no defined endpoint. The developer has maintained a consistent and active content cadence throughout 2025 and into 2026. Major named story chapters in the "Seven Wonders" series have shipped at roughly 2–5 month intervals: Chapter 4.7 (July 24, 2025), Chapter 5 (October 23, 2025), Chapter 5.1 (February 24, 2026), Chapter 5.2 (April 9, 2026), and Chapter 5.3 (July 10, 2026). Alongside the story updates, the developer launched an entirely new game server called Ventus on March 4, 2026, ran major themed events including "Close Encounters of the Atlantis Kind" (July 3, 2026) and "Raiders of the Lost Fleets" (August 13, 2026 — just two weeks before today's date). The game's free-to-play, massively multiplayer structure with rotating events, story chapters, and server expansions is designed to continue indefinitely, with no indication from the developer that content development is winding down.
