UNDECEMBER: The Forge is a free-to-play Hack & Slash Action RPG designed as an ongoing seasonal live service. The game launched on October 11, 2022, and has continuously received new seasons, content updates, and patches since then.
The most significant recent communication came on August 6, 2026, when the newly appointed game director published Director's Letter Vol. 23. In it, they confirmed that the current "The Forge" season is approaching its end, and unveiled extensive plans for the upcoming new season called "Eroded Boundary." The next season is scheduled to launch on September 10, 2026, and will introduce a new wave defense/roguelite mode, a major overhaul of Channeling Skills, the official launch of the Card System introduced this season, and a full restructuring of the Constellation of Time system. A second developer note is scheduled for August 27, 2026, and full update notes are expected in early September 2026.
The game features seasonal battle pass-style products (Zodiac Pass), rotating monetized content, and a regular cadence of server patches and feature updates. The developer has maintained consistent communication and shown no signs of winding down — quite the opposite, with a new director actively driving the next season's development.
