Evaluation

UnLoop launched on Steam in Early Access on November 13, 2025 as a PCVR port of a game that previously existed on standalone VR headsets. The developer has been consistently transparent about their Early Access roadmap and has continued to deliver against it. Since launch, the game has received two major content updates. Update 1.1.0 "More Time to Spy" shipped on December 13, 2025, adding 25+ new levels, two new mechanics (the Portable Shield and Heavy Turret), a new station area called Repair Conduits, and a storyline continuation. Update 1.2.0 shipped on September 4, 2026, introducing a timer-free Sandbox Mode with two new rooms, a full UI overhaul, physics fixes, and visual polish. The developer also noted they will keep adding more sandbox rooms based on feedback. Feature patches in July 2026 addressed microphone device selection, conveyor belt logic, grab system stability, and item insertion. A bug-fix patch followed on September 16, 2026, targeting a black screen startup issue. On July 6, 2026, the developer published a detailed production roadmap for the rest of 2026. Several Q3 2026 targets are already marked complete (UI redesign, Sandbox Mode, microphone selection, various desync fixes), while Spectator Mode and the SteamVR/OpenXR conflict fix remain outstanding. Q4 2026 plans include leaving Early Access entirely, with visual improvements, a newbie onboarding tutorial, a new grabbing mechanic ("Grabber"), and an optional paid cosmetic outfit (no gameplay perks). The roadmap also explicitly states that planning for 2027 content and mechanics is already underway. All future puzzle and story expansions were previously confirmed to be free of charge. Development is active and on-track, with the most recent developer communication on September 16, 2026.

About this game

Welcome to UnLoop – the most chaotic VR game out there. You need a highly coordinated squad to survive this space station. The catch? YOU ARE THAT SQUAD.

Every time the loop resets, your replica is left behind to repeat your exact physical movements, gestures, and voice in real-time. Yell instructions at your future-self, flip off your uncooperative past-self, and desperately try not to step on your own toes.

Ever wanted to argue with a room full of people who all sound exactly like you? You’ve come to the right place. After a few loops, you will be surrounded by your own past-copies, all screaming the same expletives at each other. They all disagree with you. And worst of all... they are technically correct.

It’s chaotic, it’s loud, and yes – the voices in your head are entirely real.

Ruined the timeline? Didn’t catch a crucial item? No problem. Just raise your laser gun, shoot yourself, and instantly reset the loop. Or shoot your copy who made a bad throw, you are the original one anyway!

Death isn't a failure here. It's just a tactical undo button.

Every puzzle is solved by coordinating with your past actions. Which sounds brilliant, until you realize your past-self had no idea what they were doing either.

Experience the sheer, unadulterated ego trip of figuring things out all by yourself. When you finally spend 15 minutes coordinating three of your past-copies just to pass a single keycard through a door, you’ll feel like an absolute mastermind solving the mysteries of the universe.

We’ll let you have that. You’re welcome!
