Unmechanical launched on August 8, 2012 as a self-contained puzzle adventure. On November 25, 2015, the developer released a major free update called "Unmechanical Extended," which added approximately one hour of new gameplay, an alternate story campaign, and Mac/Linux support — all at no charge to existing owners. Since then, the developer's communications have shifted entirely to their next project, The Solus Project, which launched in Early Access in February 2016 and fully released in June 2016.
