Vacuum Pilot left Early Access on October 30, 2022, with the developer explicitly stating that the 1.0 launch did not mean development was over — they intended to keep adding levels, game modes, bug fixes, and improvements. That promise was followed through with a major content update on February 24, 2023 (Update 1.2.0), which added five new levels along with quality-of-life changes. Since then, the developer's focus has shifted to a sequel. On January 7, 2025, Vacuum Pilot 2 was officially announced. Subsequent patches in March 2025 (Updates 1.2.3 and 1.2.4) were purely maintenance — compatibility updates, crash fixes, and a logo replacement — with each post directing players to Discord for Vacuum Pilot 2 progress updates. The most recent post, on July 6, 2026 (Update 1.2.5), is similarly a small bug-fix patch that again promotes Vacuum Pilot 2 and its Steam wishlist page. No new levels, game modes, or content have been announced or delivered for the original game since February 24, 2023. All developer communications since then describe maintenance work only, with the creative direction of the franchise firmly pointed toward Vacuum Pilot 2. The original game is effectively content-complete, receiving only occasional bug fixes to keep it running.

Vacuum Pilot is a 2D speedrunning game with easy to learn but hard to master controls based on mouse movement.

Rewarding gameplay

Use the left mouse button to accelerate towards your mouse cursor. You keep most of your momentum so you can use that to drift smoothly around corners and other obstacles. The more you play, the more you will improve, and you will climb the leaderboards in no time!

Steam Workshop support and Level Editor

Create your own levels using the same tools we use to create official levels! Upload your creations to the steam workshop and watch players compete for the fastest time on your level!

All Workshop levels can be played in Free Mode.

Multiple game modes

Free Mode [1-10 Players]
Play Official and Workshop Levels, earn medals and climb the leaderboards!
The game will automatically match you up with other players playing the same level, so you can compare your times in a non-competitive environment.
Arcade Mode [1 Player]
Complete random levels without crashing before the time runs out.
You have 3 lives per level. The time limit will be reduced with every completed level.
The more levels you complete in a run, the more XP you will earn.
Competitive Mode [2-5 Players]
Play against other players of similar skill level and climb the rankings!

Leaderboards

Every level, official and from the workshop, supports leaderboards where players can compete for the best time!
You can compare your times with friends too!
