Evaluation
Valfaris: Mecha Therion launched on November 21, 2023 as a complete, finished game. After launch, Steel Mantis delivered a small round of post-release patches (balance and performance updates in December 2023) and then shipped one meaningful free content addition: Challenge Mode on August 26, 2024, which introduced an arcade-style way to play through the game with lives, scoring, and weapon pick-up upgrades. Console versions also launched on August 29, 2024.
The only DLC listed on the store is the official soundtrack, released March 29, 2024. No additional content DLC has been announced or listed as unreleased.
Since August 2024, all developer communications have been focused exclusively on their next title, Slain 2: The Beast Within — announced April 16, 2025, teased with a trailer in August 2025, celebrated for reaching 10,000 wishlists, and most recently given a playable demo as of July 30, 2026. None of these posts reference any further content planned for Valfaris: Mecha Therion. The studio has clearly concluded its support for this game and moved on to its next project.
Evidence
Steel Mantis released a playable demo for Slain 2: The Beast Within, with no mention of any further content for Valfaris: Mecha Therion. This is the most recent developer communication, confirming the studio's full focus is on their new title.
Free Challenge Mode update released, adding an arcade-style way to play with lives, scoring, and weapon pick-up upgrades. This appears to be the final major content addition to the game.
