Evaluation
Vector 36 launched into Early Access and reached its 1.0 release on January 25, 2017. Since then, the developer — a solo developer named Ryan at Red River Studio — has shipped content and improvements across multiple update cycles: major updates including multiplayer (Update 1.5, June 2019), a full code framework overhaul (Update 1.3, October 2018), and improvements to AI, audio, and visuals (Updates 1.6 and 1.7 in 2021 and 2023). The most recent developer communication is Update 1.7, posted on April 27, 2023, which delivered a complete render pipeline overhaul, terrain shader improvements, audio updates, and AI improvements. All five DLC items are released, with the last cosmetic DLC (Racewear packs) shipping in September 2019. The store description includes a line stating "Vector36 will be growing over time," but this appears to be legacy copy from the Early Access period. The last major content update was the multiplayer launch in June 2019, and the post-2019 updates have been feature patches and technical improvements rather than new content expansions. The most recent update (April 2023) was a technical/visual overhaul with no announcement of further planned content. There are no unreleased DLC items, no roadmap, and no developer statement promising future content. The update cadence — with four major updates spread across 2018–2023 — has tapered off to maintenance-level patches, and over three years have passed since the last post on April 27, 2023 with no further communication. This pattern is consistent with a game that has reached the end of its active development. The game launched as a finished product in 2017 and received ongoing improvements through April 2023, which represents the most recent point at which the developer was actively working on it.
Evidence
Update 1.5 launched multiplayer, significantly raised game speed, added DLC cosmetic racewear, and delivered extensive gameplay system reworks — the last major content expansion.
Update 1.7 shipped with a complete render pipeline overhaul, terrain shader improvements, audio updates, and AI improvements. This is the last known developer communication.

About this game
Vector 36 is Physics-Based Racer set on the terraformed surface of Mars. You pilot a Skimmer, a completely customizable, surface skimming vehicle. With total control over every component, you are responsible for how your Skimmer performs. Piloting skill and engineering make the difference between winning and losing.
Race other pilots through various tracks on Mars. Compete in Sprint, Circuit, or Tournament modes to win credits, parts, or new Skimmers. Race your friends through Vector 36's amazing ghost replay system. Take on the world with Global Leaderboards. Push your machine to the limits until you are the fastest settler on Mars.

Each part of your Skimmer is bound by the laws of physics. Moving internal components will shift the center of gravity, adjusting angles to thrusters will affect its flight characteristics.
Fine tuning is the difference between winning and losing. Choose from a wide selection of parts, accessories, passive weapons, or support gear to adjust your Skimmer to its task. Whether it's a quick sprint at full boost, an endurance race with hardened parts, or a hill climb where lift is more important than thrust; evolve or get left behind.

Witness new skimmers, tracks, obstacles, support bots, parts, weapons, opponents and game modes. Vector36 will be growing over time.

No VR? No problem. Vector 36 still plays seamlessly on your PC Monitor.
