Evaluation

Vigil: The Longest Night launched on October 14, 2020 and has received steady post-launch support from Glass Heart Games over the years. A major content update called "Bounty of the Night" shipped on February 3, 2021, adding 40+ weapons, armor, and a full English localization overhaul. The developer continued to refine the game through subsequent patches and, more recently, ran an open beta branch to gather player feedback on a large final round of changes. On March 11, 2025, the developer explicitly stated they were "getting very close to our final update." Then on June 1, 2026, they described the upcoming patch as "(maybe) the last update of Vigil." That update shipped on June 10, 2026, delivering 12 new enchantment effects, two new rings, enemy AI improvements, and a broad range of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements. With the developer having telegraphed this as the final update and the patch now released, the game's content appears complete as of June 10, 2026. Both DLC items (the soundtrack and artbook/map) were released on launch day. No future content has been announced or hinted at beyond what shipped in this final update.
