Waifu launched on August 5, 2024 and is built around a live seasonal content system. The developer has run six consecutive seasons since launch, each introducing new rotating drop pools of collectible waifu cards and timed events. The current Season 6 (January 1 – December 31, 2026) features 3,000 waifus in the active drop pool. Alongside seasonal content, the developer has continued to expand the game itself — new boss levels and gameplay features were added through patches in 2024 and 2025, with V1.9.5 arriving on June 26, 2026 adding a coin-to-crystal transmutation system. The game is actively maintained and is designed around a perpetual seasonal content cycle, meaning it never reaches a conventional "complete" state. New seasons and events are continually introduced as the core product experience.
