Evaluation
War of the Human Tanks is the first entry in the Human Tanks, Charge! trilogy developed by Yakiniku Banzai. The game launched on January 10, 2014 and received a free bonus map pack update on March 19, 2014. The publisher announced two sequels in May 2014 — War of the Human Tanks – ALTeR (released February 13, 2015) and Limited Operations — completing the planned trilogy. On June 13, 2016, the release of the third and final game in the trilogy was accompanied by the launch of a "War of the Human Tanks Complete Collection" bundle, explicitly marking the completion of the series. Both DLC items are soundtrack releases (the original soundtrack from launch day in 2014, and a remix album released January 30, 2017), with no gameplay content unreleased. There have been no developer communications suggesting any further content for this specific game, and the series was framed as a complete trilogy from the outset. The game launched as a finished product within a planned trilogy, and that trilogy has been fully delivered.

About this game
War of the Human Tanks is a story driven strategy game with a gameplay reminiscent of Battleship and Chess, featuring a story of war, loyalty, sacrifice and human shaped tanks.
This story takes place in a land vaguely reminiscent of modern-day Japan. In the twenty years since the first Human Tank was developed, the war raging between the Empire of Japon and the Kingdom of Japon has turned into a proxy war fought between Human Tanks on both sides.
The Empire of Japon once ruled the entire land of Japon. Now diminished and cornered, the Empire prepares to make its last stand as the tanks of the Kingdom of Japon draw close to its capital. Shoutaro Daihon'ei, Lieutenant of the Imperial Army moves out to the battlefield, followed closely by the loyal Human Tanks in his company.
