Evaluation
Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space launched on Steam on March 19, 2013. The developer's post-launch activity was limited to platform ports: a Mac port in November 2014 and a Linux port in February 2016. The Linux release on February 2, 2016 was the final update, making the game available on all Steam-supported operating systems. A November 2014 post briefly mentioned a sequel (Infinite Space III: Sea of Stars) in Early Access at the time, but that reference was about a separate game entirely. There have been no developer communications of any kind since February 2, 2016 — over a decade of silence. The store description contains no mention of planned content, DLC, or ongoing development. No DLC is listed. The game appears to have launched as a self-contained, complete product and has received no content additions beyond platform compatibility work. It is a finished game.
Evidence
Linux port released, making the game available on every OS supported by Steam. This is the most recent developer communication on record.
Mac port released and brought up to date with the PC version. Post also references a separate sequel game (Infinite Space III: Sea of Stars) in Early Access — a distinct product, not additional content for this game.

About this game
Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space is a hybrid "roguelike" game of space exploration and starship combat set within a peculiar, as-yet-unvisited region of the galaxy known as the Purple Void. Each time it is played, a new and different "sector prime" and its vast frontier are randomly generated. Locations of stars and nebulae, homeworlds of alien races, distribution of lifeforms and artifacts, plot-twisting quest events--the whole game is remixed.
Note that unlike common roguelikes that last dozens of hours, Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space plays to its conclusion in less than thirty minutes - it's the perfect lunch break game! Features also include a fully animated star map, a unique turn-based movement system, real-time starship battles (at naval battle speeds, not "Super-Melee"), award-winning music and sound, and a robust battle simulator. Weird Worlds also has built-in support for community-created mods that can change anything and everything in the game!
