Welcome to the Game launched on June 15, 2016 and received a substantial free 2.0 update on November 11, 2016 that added significant content (new puzzles, deep web pages, endings, and the Hacker Mode DLC). A further feature update (version 2.1) arrived on April 18, 2017, and a Casual Mode update followed on September 1, 2017. The last piece of content added to this game was The Waiting Room, a free DLC released on October 28, 2017. The sole paid DLC, Hacker Mode, shipped alongside the 2.0 update in November 2016 and is fully released. No DLC entries remain unreleased on the store.
Since October 2017, developer communications on this game's page have shifted entirely toward announcing new titles in the series rather than adding content here. A October 2023 post promoted the spin-off Dead Signal, and a June 23, 2026 post announced Welcome to the Game III, launching July 16, 2026 — a full sequel, not additional content for this game. The developer's focus has clearly moved to new entries in the franchise, and there have been no content updates, patches, or announcements of new content for this game since October 2017. This game is complete as a standalone product.

Welcome to the Game puts you behind a computer screen to explore the deep web. You are challenged to find 8 hidden keys throughout the deep web to build the Red Rooms URL. During this process, you are challenged with hidden puzzles on the Deep Web, have to solve mini puzzle games to prevent from getting hacked and there may or may not be kidnappers trying to kidnap you. Experience the true horror and eeriness of what is really out there on the deep web without actually going on the deep web.
