Evaluation

Where the Heart is: Season 1 is a complete, released visual novel. The store description makes clear that Season 1 is a finished product containing at least 13 hours of gameplay, and explicitly states that "Season 2, and future seasons, will continue the story." The developer has been actively communicating about Season 2 throughout 2026. In March 2026, the developer confirmed that Season 2 is planned for Summer 2026, noting they had finished reworking the original game's artwork before turning full focus to Season 2. In May 2026, the developer pushed the Season 2 release target from end of July to end of August 2026, citing an unsustainable 80+ hour work week — a sign of active, intensive development rather than abandonment. Most recently, on June 12, 2026, a free Season 2 demo was released on Steam, accompanied by a call for player feedback and a wishlist push. Season 2 is clearly imminent and in advanced development. Anyone who has completed Season 1 and wants to continue the story should expect Season 2 to arrive around the end of August 2026.
Evidence

About this game

You play as a young man dealing with the aftermath of your father's death. After the funeral, you receive an invite to return to your childhood home to visit your mother's best friend, Monica and her two daughters, whom you grew up with. It has been several years since you've seen them, so the game centers around your quest to re-build these old relationships, forge new ones and deal with everything life has to throw at you, including the fallout from your deceased father's will.

In addition to the three ladies you're staying with, there'll be plenty of other characters in play (friends, foes, neighbors, stalkers and many more) and a mystery to solve, as you realize that someone is secretly trying to manipulate your decisions.

Where the Heart is" is a choice-driven adult Visual Novel (VN) with thousands of still images in addition to fully animated, multi-POV lewd scenes. There are eleven women to pursue in season 1 (with additions in subsequent seasons), countless decisions to make (ALL of which matter) and realistic characters and dialog, including lots of humor.

Some characters will be easier/harder to "crack" and some relationships will be a slow-burn romance (or corruption) while others will be a quick passionate affair (or rejection). Will you focus on one girl or try to pursue as many as possible? Each girl in the game has their own distinct personality and back-story and they will dynamically react to your previous decisions and also react to your relationships with other women.

Season 1 contains at least 13 hours hours of gameplay, that you can replay numerous times to experience different paths and girls. Where the Heart is: Season 2, and future seasons, will continue the story.
