Evaluation

Windswept launched on November 11, 2025 as a fully complete collectathon platformer — a solo developer project that had been in development for over four years. The developer confirmed in March 2025 that all content (every stage, menu, overworld, and minigame) was finished ahead of the release, and the game shipped as intended on its announced date. Since launch, the developer has focused entirely on stability: a series of bug fix patches addressed multiplayer issues, input bugs, visual glitches, and quality-of-life improvements for speedrunners. The January 20, 2026 update also included a personal note from the developer stating that, now that the game is stable and post-launch hotfixes are behind them, the immediate priority is fulfilling outstanding Kickstarter backer rewards — not developing new game content. The developer's own words ("What's next? Not much! LMAO — this is a good thing I promise") make clear that no new content is planned. The only DLC listed is a released soundtrack (December 31, 2025), and there are no unreleased DLC entries, no roadmap, and no announcements of future expansions or updates. The store description presents the game as a complete package. Windswept launched as a finished product and remains one.
Evidence
Developer states that with hotfixes complete and a vacation taken, the next priority is fulfilling Kickstarter backer rewards — explicitly saying 'What's next? Not much!' and framing this as a positive sign that the game is stable and done.

About this game

Don't be fooled by its cute charm! The journey home won't be an easy one!

Windswept is a love letter to a period of gaming where collectathon platformers reigned supreme, trying again was the norm, and players only had a game manual to guide them.

There are over 40 stages to explore, each with their own set of hidden collectibles, bonus challenges and quirky obstacles to overcome... or fall victim to!

You'll learn every ability in the first stage of the game, after that you're on your own!

Changing your leader gives you an entirely new set of actions to use and master - remember to take your time and things will click eventually...

Making your way home will be tough, and you'll need to keep trying until you get the hang of things - but for those who find it a walk in the park, there's plenty of hidden challenges along the way to test you!

There's no wrong way to play Windswept.

🦆 Marbles and 🐢 Checkers each have unique abilities, but that won't always be enough to overcome specialised challenges... Mix 'n' match different techniques to play your own way.

You may surprise yourself with what you're capable of!

The journey home is a long one - live for the moments as they happen.

After that, they're only a memory!

How far will you go?

Where will your journey end?

Let's get swept away - together!
