Evaluation

World of Fate remains in Early Access on Steam, where it has been available since December 24, 2022. After a quiet period following its original launch, the developer returned in May 2025 with a sweeping overhaul called "World of Fate Remastered" (May 23, 2025), describing it as a "full feature and gameplay overhaul" with new building types, combat improvements, logistics systems, construction tools, and missile/nuke mechanics. This was followed immediately by a flurry of updates throughout late May 2025 — adding AI empires (May 24), multiplayer hosting and a tutorial system (May 26), squad vehicles and infrastructure upgrades (May 30), and quality-of-life improvements (June 2). A second major named update, "Combat 2.0," followed on June 20, 2025, described as a long-awaited combat overhaul informed by player suggestions. In total, the developer shipped five major content updates and multiple feature patches between May 23 and June 20, 2025. As of today (October 1, 2026), the last developer communication was June 20, 2025 — approximately 15 months ago. The burst of activity in May–June 2025 was dense but confined to a roughly four-week window, making it difficult to establish a regular long-term cadence. The gap since June 20, 2025 exceeds six months with no further posts, which would ordinarily raise concern; however, the game remains in Early Access with no developer statement about completion or a 1.0 release, and the prior burst of development activity was substantial. Given the absence of any completion announcement or 1.0 roadmap, the game is still in active development as an Early Access title, though the lack of any communication since June 2025 is worth noting.
