World of Goo 2

World of Goo 2 launched on Steam on April 25, 2025. Post-launch activity was focused on polish and quality-of-life improvements: a May 7, 2025 update added offline mode and Steam Deck improvements, and on May 29, 2025 the developers released an in-house level editor with Steam Workshop integration for community content creation. These were meaningful additions, but not new story or campaign content. The clearest signal about the game's development status comes from a November 19, 2025 developer post announcing Steam trading cards. In that post, the developer described the trading card release as a "possibly final milestone" for the World of Goo 2 team — a direct indication that the team considers active development to be winding down or concluded. The game shipped as a complete single-player experience: 5 chapters, over 60 levels, and a full soundtrack (available as a separate DLC, already released on launch day). There are no unreleased DLC items, no announced future expansions, and no outstanding commitments from the developer. The November 2025 statement, combined with the absence of any post-launch roadmap or content announcements, indicates the game has reached the end of its planned development lifecycle.
