Evaluation

World of Tanks: HEAT launched on May 25, 2026 as a free-to-play, cross-platform tactical tank game from Wargaming. The game is explicitly built around a recurring seasonal content model — the developer confirmed in a Dev Talk posted on August 11, 2026 that Season 2 'Fire and Ash' is coming, introducing a new Agent, three new tanks (including a second vehicle for existing Agent Ember), and a new map. The developer also confirmed that seasons will follow a roughly three-month cadence going forward, each with its own theme, content, and story. Since launch, the developer has maintained a steady stream of updates. Season 1 'Lost Eden' shipped on July 1, 2026 with a new Agent (Flair), two new tanks, a new map (Eden), and a premium Battle Pass. A quality-of-life patch (1.1.1) followed on July 16, 2026. On August 12, 2026, Patch 1.1.2 introduced a new experimental game mode (Plant/Defuse), Top 100 leaderboards for both Quick Match and Plant/Defuse, and in-battle vehicle rotation, alongside balance changes and bug fixes. The developer has also indicated they are actively exploring social and competitive features in response to player feedback, with no timeline committed yet. This is a game designed to receive ongoing seasonal content with no defined endpoint.

About this game

World of Tanks: HEAT is a free-to-play vehicle combat game built for dynamic tactical team play. A unique roster of Agents with diverse skillsets and a variety of highly advanced tanks are yours to control. Find your perfect Agent-tank combo, build your ride with hi-tech weaponry, and fight it out in a world where technology and innovation have reinvented tank combat.

HEAT drops you into intense 5v5 skirmishes and larger 10v10 clashes where there’s room for both personal skill and team coordination. There are no "win buttons”; the battlefield is equal for everyone, and victory goes to those who communicate, adapt, and outthink the enemy. Fight, win, lose, master new tricks, and come back stronger every new battle.

Choose your Agent, each with unique abilities that define how you fight, hold ground, and time your strikes to maintain momentum. Every tank in HEAT is upgradable. Tune your tank and mix experimental modules to match your playstyle. Every combination feels different on the battlefield, so experiment until you find what clicks.

HEAT is powered by a completely new engine built from the ground up, with full support for the most advanced lighting systems, particle effects, and VFX available. This makes every explosion, impact, and ability feel like you’re witnessing it live.

HEAT runs seamlessly on PC (Wargaming Game Center and Steam), Steam Deck, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and GeForce NOW. All your Agents and tanks are ready for action, no matter what gear you play on. Log in with a single Wargaming account to sync your progression instantly across all your devices.

HEAT is set in an alternate post-WWII timeline, where science has triumphed and the world blooms with technical marvels. But peace is fragile, and behind the facade of harmony lurks an intensifying arms race. Your arsenal will be packed with cutting-edge technologies, all based on real-life scientific and design concepts. This "what if" machinery is heavy, brutal, and built to shred armor. It is a world where engineering beauty is forged for the frontlines.
