Evaluation

WRC 6 launched on October 7, 2016 as a licensed annual racing title covering the official 2016 WRC season. Both DLC items — a test car and a calendar pack — shipped on or immediately after launch (October 7 and October 11, 2016). Following release, KT Racing issued a series of patches through January 20, 2017 (patch 1.0.53), addressing bugs and adding smaller quality-of-life features such as new localizations and a weekly event reward system. No major content expansions were ever released or announced. The last developer communication directed at WRC 6 was patch 1.0.53 on January 20, 2017. By January 2018, the studio's news posts had shifted entirely to WRC 7, including an eSports announcement that explicitly directs players to that sequel. This is consistent with the annual sports game model, where each yearly entry is shipped as a complete, self-contained product and support transitions to the next installment. There are no unreleased DLC items, no announced future content, and no post-launch content expansion cycle. The game launched as a finished product representing the 2016 rally season, received post-launch polish patches, and development concluded by early 2017.
