Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair launched on October 8, 2019 as a complete product. All three DLC items — Trowzer's Top Tonic Pack, a digital graphic novel, and the original soundtrack — were released on launch day as part of the Digital Deluxe Edition bundle, with no unreleased DLC remaining.
After launch, Playtonic shipped one free content update on April 14, 2020, adding a full 8-bit soundtrack, a "Not So Impossible Lair" difficulty mode with checkpoints, and a harder no-shield challenge mode. This is the last content update the game received.
Playtonic's subsequent developer communications posted to this game's Steam page have focused entirely on other projects: Yooka-Replaylee (a remaster of the original Yooka-Laylee, which launched October 9, 2025) and Super Yooka-Laylee Kart (a new racing game announced at Summer Game Fest on June 6, 2026, with an alpha playtest running in July 2026). The studio is clearly active and healthy, but their development focus has moved on to new titles. Nothing in these posts suggests any additional content is coming to The Impossible Lair.

To thwart his evil plan of using a “Hivemind” device to enslave an entire kingdom of bees, our heroes need to take the fight to Capital B’s “Impossible” Lair.
