You Are the Monster launched into Early Access on June 18, 2026. It is a solo-developer project where Joshua Hughes has been actively engaged with player feedback since day one. In the first six days after launch, four patches were released (1.0.2 through 1.0.5), each adding player-requested features like destructible buildings and map dividers, alongside bug fixes. In the June 21 hotfix post, the developer acknowledged ongoing crash issues, apologized for them, and stated a plan to hire an additional developer in the future to help address major stability problems. This is a game that is clearly still being shaped by player feedback and is not yet in a finished state — which is exactly what Early Access is for.
