3D Chess

3D Chess launched on December 6, 2016 and received a series of post-launch updates from its developer, bumblebee. The game got two feature updates in its first year: version 1.2 on January 27, 2017 (adding new boards, pieces, and Linux support) and online multiplayer on May 3, 2017. A major content update followed on June 21, 2018 (version 2.0.2), adding 85 new puzzles, a redesigned UI, new chess piece sets, and additional difficulty options. The most recent update was a general maintenance and localization patch on January 15, 2019, which added Chinese language support and minor bug fixes. Since January 15, 2019, there has been no further communication from the developer about 3D Chess itself. The news posts from 2020 and 2021 are announcements about entirely separate games (The Forgotten Land and Beasties) published by the same publisher, rokaplay — they are not relevant to 3D Chess development. No DLC is listed, no future content has been announced, and the developer has not indicated plans for additional updates. The game's update history shows a natural wind-down from feature additions to maintenance patches, consistent with a finished product. 3D Chess appears to have launched as a complete product and received incremental improvements through early 2019, after which development concluded.
