Evaluation

Airport Madness: World Edition launched on May 28, 2015, with the developer promising regular free airport additions. True to that commitment, the studio delivered a consistent stream of new airports throughout 2015 and into early 2016: Barcelona (June 2015), Dubai (September 2015), Amsterdam Schiphol (December 2015), and finally Zurich (February 5, 2016), bringing the total to 12 airports. The December 2015 developer post explicitly announced Zurich as the next planned update, and that update shipped on schedule. The last developer communication of any kind was the Zurich release post on February 5, 2016. A separate post from July 2016 announced Airport Madness 3D — the studio's next game — on its own Steam page, indicating the developer had moved on to a new project. The store description itself now describes the game as a complete 12-airport package with "no in-app purchases or ads" and states "once you buy Airport Madness, you own all of it," language consistent with a finished product. There have been no developer posts, patch notes, or announcements for this game since February 2016. With the 12-airport roster complete, no unreleased DLC on the store, no outstanding commitments, and nearly a decade of developer silence, the game is best understood as a finished, self-contained product. The content completion date aligns with the final airport addition on February 5, 2016.

About this game

Keep arriving and departing airplanes safe from collisions, while avoiding unnecessary delays. In this game you will work at the world's most complex airports. Human pilot voices, a radar screen, 12 different real-world airports, plus an awesome soundtrack make this game a must-have for anyone who likes aviation. Sound complicated? Airport Madness is for everyone, and it is very easy to learn. Do you have what it takes to be an air traffic controller at a busy international airport?

You are paid the big bucks for your visualization skills and guts. Just like the real job of an air traffic controller, you must pay attention and keep your eyes moving. There is always something that you should be doing. You must give takeoff clearances, landing clearances and taxi clearances in a strategic effort to maintain safety and efficiency where there would otherwise be total chaos. This is not a spectator's sport! Can you hack it?

The Airport Madness series began in 2008, and has sold more than 75,000 copies. Airport Madness: World Edition is the sixth and most popular version of the series.
