Alien Hominid Invasion launched on November 1, 2023 as a fully released game. Following launch, The Behemoth delivered two post-launch content updates: Update Part 1 (December 7, 2023), which added 23 new achievements, map algorithm improvements, seasonal cosmetics, and balance changes; and Update Part 2 — the "Juicy Variety Edition" (April 29, 2024) — a larger free update adding new hazards, enemies, areas, modifiers, the Orbiter mutation, and the MECHA F.R.O.G. mini-boss. A hotfix followed on May 13, 2024 to address bugs from the Juicy Variety update. The July 26, 2024 roadmap announcement from The Behemoth focused on porting Alien Hominid Invasion to PlayStation 4 and 5, a quality-of-life update for BattleBlock Theater, and a Castle Crashers DLC. Critically, the studio noted they are "prototyping for our next game" — a signal that the team's creative focus has moved on. No further updates, announcements, or content commitments for Alien Hominid Invasion on Steam have been made since that July 2024 post. By October 2024, The Behemoth had shifted attention entirely to BEHEMOTH, their newly announced sixth game.
