Evaluation

Ancient Planet Tower Defense launched on February 3, 2015 as a complete tower defense game with 40 levels. Over the following years, the developer shipped a handful of meaningful additions — most notably the "Earth" location pack in June 2017 (Update 1.0.13), which added five new maps set in London, Paris, Giza, Beijing, and Moscow. Additional feature patches through 2017 added hotkeys, localization options, and quality-of-life improvements. After several years of silence, the developer returned in January–February 2023 with a burst of polish updates — improving the death ray mechanic, overhauling save-file resilience, adding aspect ratio support, and refining difficulty UI and speed controls. The most recent developer communication was February 1, 2023 (NEWS-5). These updates were maintenance and polish in nature, with no new levels or content announced. There is no roadmap, no unreleased DLC listed on the store, and no developer statement about future content. The store description presents the game as a finished 40-level package. The single major content release (the Earth maps in 2017) was an isolated event, not the start of a recurring update cadence. Since no further content has been announced or signaled since February 2023, and the game launched as a complete product, it is best understood as a finished game. The most recent update date of February 1, 2023 serves as the effective completion date, being the last time the developer touched the game.

Update 1.0.13 added the 'Earth' location with five new maps (London, Paris, Giza, Beijing, Moscow) — the only major content expansion post-launch.

About this game

The stronghold of an ancient civilization has been invaded by hordes of alien raiders.
Use powerful technologies of the Ancient and repel the attack of the enemy's armies!

Features:
- Classic Tower Defense (TD) for those who are fond of good old games;
- Building towers in any free area on the field;
- 40 unique levels;
- Plenty of diverse enemies with their own features;
- The game offers upgrading towers, as well as everything else. New improvements allow selecting exceptional strategies for each level. Even the base can be upgraded!
- Improvements can be reset and distributed at will, it is free and you get all your emeralds back;
- The storyline is based on recollections of the veterans of intergalactic wars;
- Our artist visited the ancient planet himself in order to recreate its image in the game;
- Character voices sound identical to real ones;
- The game was developed upon the order of the High Council of the Intelligent Civilizations of the Galaxy;
- There should have been one more feature here, but it failed censorship, so we replaced it with an advert: “Galactic energy drink “Improviser” with a rocket fuel extract will reduce fatigue and shorten your life by a couple of years. “Improviser” – for a vibrant and fast life!”

We love strategies, we did our best to create the game, and it turned out quite decent.
