Evaluation

ANLIFE launched on February 11, 2026. Two days after release, on February 13, 2026, the developer published a detailed post categorizing player feedback into a development task list covering 11 major areas of planned work — world expansion, food system improvements, predator mechanics, evolution and learning upgrades, new biomes, UI overhauls, multiplayer modes, and more. This was a clear, explicit statement of intent to continue developing the game well beyond its launch state. Following that, the developer shipped several patches in quick succession: a terrain-editing feature patch on February 12, 2026, a visibility-improvement patch on February 15, 2026, a performance fix on February 27, 2026, and a minor bug fix on March 1, 2026. However, the developer has not posted any updates since March 1, 2026. As of September 24, 2026 — nearly seven months later — none of the planned features from the February 13 task list have been announced as shipped, and the developer has not communicated about the status of that work. The early post-launch update cadence (roughly every 2–3 days) has not been sustained, and the silence has now stretched far beyond what that early pattern would suggest. With a broad set of commitments on record and no follow-through visible, it is unclear whether development is continuing.

About this game

ANLIFE is an evolution simulator featuring block creatures that shuffle around awkwardly under a physics engine. There’s no complex ecosystem like in typical life sims. Take the role of a god—lend a hand to these creatures or call down meteors—and calmly watch their evolution unfold, as if peering into a miniature sandbox.

Block creatures powered by physics

All they do is chase after food, yet their simplicity is oddly charming. Like a baby learning to crawl, these block creatures fumble and flail as they learn to move. Cheer them on as they grow more adept through the physics engine.

Enjoy the freedom of being a god

As a god, you can help them out, summon meteors, or even play a little mischievous. Shape the world however you like, guided by your own whim.

A tranquil, healing time

No story, no complex ecosystem, no goals. Simply relax in a soothing atmosphere and watch these creatures do their best to live.

Evolution simulation

Creatures that learn to move effectively toward food will survive, reproduce, and pass on their traits. Through each generation, their bodies gradually evolve.
