Natural Instincts: European Forest launched in Steam Early Access on July 22, 2021. In the months that followed, the developer posted updates acknowledging player feedback and discussing ambitious plans for the game's future — including new biomes, survival mechanics, city-building features, additional animal campaigns, and a full 1.0 release. The December 31, 2021 post was explicitly titled "What's happening with Natural Instincts?" and reassured players: "This is not the end of Natural Instincts. It's just the beginning."
However, that post on December 31, 2021 is the last official communication from DreamStorm Studios. No patches, announcements, devlogs, or status updates have appeared since then. The promised 1.0 release and all associated content additions were never delivered. The game remains in Early Access with no indication from the developer of whether work is continuing, has been suspended, or has been abandoned entirely. With no communication for more than four years, it is impossible to confirm whether any of the originally planned content is still being developed.

During gameplay, you will face a number of events and challenges.
