ASSASSINATION BOX

Assassination Box launched out of Early Access on January 22, 2018. The developer's own account tells the story clearly: after releasing version 1.0 in a rough state, development was quietly abandoned. There were no further major content updates after the 1.0 launch. On March 15, 2026, the developer (Vitalii Zeleniuk) posted a candid statement as part of a 10th studio anniversary initiative called "#unshovel." In it, he described Assassination Box as his first game — "a mess" released "in a very raw, buggy, and broken state" — and confirmed he abandoned it shortly after launch. He announced the game would be converted to free-to-play permanently and kept on the store as a historical artifact, explicitly calling it "a digital museum piece." He encouraged recent buyers to request refunds. No new content was announced or promised. The game is now free-to-play and is being maintained on the store purely for sentimental/archival reasons. The developer has made it unambiguously clear that no further development or content additions are planned. The game's content was complete (such as it was) at its January 22, 2018 launch.
