Aven Colony launched on July 25, 2017 and received a series of free post-launch content drops. Content Drop 1 arrived on August 31, 2017, adding hovercars, a space elevator, new sandbox maps, and more. Content Drop 2 (the Expedition Update) followed on December 5, 2017, with major overhauls to the expedition system, remote installations, and new enemy types. Content Drop 3 launched on February 16, 2018, bringing a Governor Perks system, three new challenge maps, and additional sandbox maps. A further feature patch on May 31, 2018 added a fourth challenge map (Crystal Forest) and a UI overhaul. The most recent developer communication was a one-year anniversary post on July 27, 2018. In that post, the developer acknowledged being "pretty quiet for a while" and confirmed they were focused on bringing the latest PC content update to PS4 and Xbox One. Critically, they stated they were "not quite ready to talk about the future of Aven" — stopping short of announcing any new content — and said they were monitoring player feedback to "help shape whatever comes next," without committing to any specific deliverable. No further updates, patches, or announcements have been made since July 27, 2018. Both DLC items (the soundtrack and the Cerulean Vale map pack) were released at or shortly after launch and are fully shipped. There are no unreleased DLC entries on the store. The developer's post-launch update cadence ran from July 2017 through May 2018, then stopped entirely. With no outstanding content commitments and no developer communications since July 27, 2018, the game's content development is consistent with a completed product. The last substantive content addition was the Crystal Forest patch on May 31, 2018, which is the most appropriate completion date.

BUILD THE FUTURE: Use construction drones to build dozens of types of structures to house your colonists, establish trading routes, welcome immigrants and much more! Enhance your existing buildings through several upgrade tiers to push your colony to new heights!

EXPEDITION SYSTEM: Deploy your crack team of pioneers to explore alien ruins, recover artifacts, repair crashed vessels and rescue lost explorers. Get ready to take on plague and creep spore nests whilst fending off splinter groups, rebels and Aven Prime's remaining robot guardians which threaten your new civilisation.

PREPARE FOR WINTER: A fully functional day/night and seasonal cycle. During the winter Aven Prime freezes over - farms will not grow food and solar panels will generate far less electricity. Take measures to survive this harsh climate!
