Evaluation

Bad Dream: Stories is a remastered collection of older Bad Dream series games that released on September 30, 2021. The game received a major free overhaul update on February 4, 2026, where the developer rebuilt the game from scratch with improved graphics, 4K resolution, new effects, custom fonts, and a hint system. The developer expressed satisfaction with the results and pride in the update quality. The February 4, 2026 update post closes with a teaser — "Now... Bad Dream: Purgatory... I'm looking at you." — but Bad Dream: Purgatory is a separate game in the series, not additional content for Bad Dream: Stories itself. The developer also cross-promotes Bad Dream: Afterlife (a new standalone entry in the series that launched October 10, 2025) and mentions "a few surprises planned" on their creator page, which refers to future series entries rather than further updates to this collection. A minor bug fix was shipped on June 13, 2026, indicating the developer is still maintaining the game, but this is routine maintenance rather than a signal of new content being developed for this title. No new content for Bad Dream: Stories has been announced or implied beyond the February 2026 overhaul. The game appears to be a complete, polished collection at this point.

Bad Dream: Stories is a collection of older games in the Bad Dream series in a new, remastered form. Play the classics from 2013-2014 in full screen with many improvements and bug fixes. The entire collection consists of such titles as:

Butcher

Visit the old, forgotten town and see the place where the whole adventure began. It's a sad and disturbing place haunted by a madman. Make your decisions very carefully or face the horrid consequences.

Graveyard

The place where a bad dream turned into a nightmare. Restore the population of an extinct beehive. Make new friends in the process.

Hospital

For some people it's a psychiatric ward. For others, it is an ordinary hospital. The reason for your stay is not very clear... at least yet.

Cyclops

Lost while looking for a way home you find yourself in a forgotten part of the city. It's a warm sunny day and the neighborhood looks nice. However, you have this unsettling feeling that something bad is coming.

Memories

This is the most important title for all fans of the Bad Dream series. The events that happened in this place created the entire universe. There were no good dreams after here... at least for a while.
